Reliable Shaft Sealing for Industrial Pumps
Single‑acting and double‑acting mechanical seals are used to reliably seal the pump shaft gland. Sealing is achieved by axial sliding faces that are pressed against each other by spring force, ensuring the seal remains closed even when the pump is at standstill.
The stationary seal face is typically mounted in a housing, while the rotating seal face is installed on the shaft sleeve. During pump operation, the pumped medium forms a thin lubricating film between the sliding faces. This film prevents dry running and reduces wear, ensuring stable and long‑term sealing performance.
Allpac S – Universal Standard Mechanical Seal
The Allpac S mechanical seal is a robust, universally applicable solution. It can also be used with abrasive media and is characterized by its simple design and ease of maintenance, thanks to a minimal number of components.
In double‑acting configurations, two mechanical seals are arranged in series. The space between the seal faces can be supplied with a pressurized external sealing medium, effectively preventing any product from escaping into the atmosphere.
RHETA® – Metal‑Free and Easy to Assemble
RHETA®, developed by RHEINHÜTTE, is a metal‑free mechanical seal designed for maximum service friendliness. All components can be assembled and disassembled from one side, making maintenance quick and efficient. Changing from CS to CST versions is simple and fast.
Unlike conventional mechanical seals, RHETA® is made from innovative, corrosion‑resistant materials. Both the housing and sealing cover are manufactured from durable plastic, suitable for operating temperatures of up to 130 °C.
An additional advantage is the integrated service flushing system, allowing occasional flushing to be carried out easily and cost‑effectively, further extending service life.
